Maintenance

Tasks

Each area has it's own specific needs an on going tasks.  We have plans for each garden and a list of jobs that can be undertaken at any time.

If you have any free time and would like to help to maintain these spaces - please dig in.  If you're like more information please get in touch.

Woodland Garden Tasks

Spiky grass - dig out the little clumps before they take hold!

Border logs: Tidy up in front (allow foxgloves, curtail/move teasels); un-encroach grass overs

Baby birch trees to be eradicated (careful composting)

Baby cedar trees allowed to continue for now but may be moved out in future

Move Hawthorne from beside the dead cherry (after the first frost, eg. December/January)

Story Garden Tasks

Planned additions of fresh willow, and keeping an eye out for a bigger stump for more accessible seating (existing stumps are all very low to the ground)

Pine trees - cutting back some the lower hanging branches that overshadow the arbor, to allow more light

Dogwood - more strategic cutting back over the winter
