Orchard Day
31st October 26 - 12noon - 2pm
Join us for our annual Orchard Day celebrations where we take the opportunity to celebrate our harvest and all the hard work that goes into making our orchard thrive. The fruit has been harvested, sorted and stored ready for our huge juicing event.
We will be taking advantage of the wonderful polytunnel at the Riverbank Centre - we relocated there last year after the weather turned particularly bad and are not taking any chances this year!

Dookin' for Apples and other treats
Seeing as Orchard Day falls on Halloween we thought dookin' for apples seemed only right!
A chocolate hunt and some colouring in fun will be set up for anyone who wants to join in!
What's Happening?
Juicing
First we roughly chop up the apples - cores, skins n'all.
They then get moved into our crush where they are made into a mulch of sorts.
This makes them small enough to be juiced in our huge press.
You can be part of the whole process - and best of all, sample juice straight from the apple!
Cakes, Cuppas and Chat
This is a social event which naturally has to be fuelled by good cake and lots of tea and coffee!
Please feel free to bring along a sample of your home baking - you can't have too much cake!

Seeing as Orchard Day falls on Halloween we thought dookin' for apples seemed only right!
A chocolate hunt and some colouring in fun will be set up for anyone who wants to join in!
Other bits...
This is a free community event and we do not charge, however if you would like to donate to costs of running this event and future ones, that would be bloomin' marvellous.
Children are very welcome but we ask that they are supervised at all times - we would love them to get involved but there are some risks in the area that parents and guardians should be mindful of.
Dogs - we love the four legged residents but would ask owners to be aware that this will be an area where we are preparing food and dogs will need to be kept clear of these spaces - ie around the apple press.
